Widower's grief 10 years on

A GRIEVING widower who was accused of killing his Scots wife after a freak accident in Peru has spoken about his heartbreak ahead of the 10th anniversary of her death.

Rupert Riedl, from Salzburg in Austria, was with his wife Bridget and their three children on a family adventure holiday in the South American country when their boat capsized in March 2003.

Bridget, 26, from Cupar, Fife, was pulled beneath the water by strong undercurrents as the couple tried to rescue their children, Yannik, Fabio and Olivia. Her body was not discovered until a month later. The children survived.
