Woman, 26, badly hurt by car which hit her in A9 layby

A pedestrian has been seriously injured after she was hit by a car in a lay-by.

The 26-year-old woman was struck by a black Range Rover after she parked her blue Toyota Aygo in a lay-by on the northbound A9 near Auchterarder in Perthshire.

She was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where she is being treated for a serious injury to her left leg.

Police Scotland appealed for information about the incident which happened at around 11.30pm yesterday.
