The victim, who was travelling in a Ford Ka, died after yesterday's accident on the A75 on the outskirts of Dumfries, the main route between the ferry port of Stranraer and England.

Meanwhile, emergency crews have freed a man and woman from a car thatcrashed on Kilmacolm Road heading towards Bridge of Weir, yesterday in Inverclyde.
