Woman found dead by road may have been hit during fog

POLICE investigating the death of a woman whose body was yesterday found next to a major road said she may have been hit by a vehicle in foggy conditions.

The body of the woman, who has not been identified, was discovered by the A90 near Laurencekirk in Aberdeenshire at around 8am yesterday morning.

Grampian Police said the death was being treated as unexplained, but her injuries were consistent with having been hit by a vehicle.
