A WOMAN had to be cut from her car and taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash between two cars and a coach at an accident blackspot.

The collision happened around 6.30pm on Saturday on the A9 near Auchterarder, in Perthshire.

The woman was trapped for almost an hour and Tayside Fire and Rescue used hydraulic cutting equipment to cut her free before strapping her to a spinal board.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Dundee's Ninewells Hospital. The 46-year-old woman was said to be in a "serious but stable" condition in hospital.

The other car driver, the coach driver and 21 passengers on board the coach were uninjured.
