ALASDAIR Allan, MSP for Western Isles, carries the haggis in to the Scottish Parliament with fellow MSP Willie Coffey and haggis maker Joe Findlay.

Mr Allan read a Gaelic translation of Robert Burns's Address to the Haggis, completed by the late Reverend Roderick Macdonald, the father of Lewis Macdonald MSP, and an address was also given in Scots.

It was overseen by Murdo Morrison, Honorary President the Robert Burns World Federation, which along with the Scottish Federation of Meat Traders Association declared 2014 the year of the haggis.
