Special corrals would be set up at street-ends for clusters of large bins and research is to be conducted to find out how far the people of the New Town would be willing to walk with bags of rubbish to determine locations, The Herald understands.

New plans to herd wheelie bins into some of Edinburgh’s most prestigious streets in an effort to tackle vermin infestations caused by ripped bin bags are set to polarise residents.
