A teenager has appeared in court charged with a serious assault following an alleged incident near a school.

Police were called to a disturbance close to a secondary school in Glasgow's southside at around 1.20pm on Monday.

A boy, aged 14, was taken to the city's Victoria Infirmary following the incident.

A 15-year-old boy appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court, where he was charged with assault to severe injury and permanent impairment, the Crown Office confirmed.
