Zoo escape bull put down because of injuries

A BULL was put down after it was pushed out of an enclosure at Edinburgh Zoo by another animal in a dominance fight.

Visitors to the zoo were forced to take cover after the Heck cattle bull was barged out of its enclosure on Monday.

The beast was on the loose for about 40 minutes before it was tranquillised by a team of keepers and vets. However, its injuries were so severe that experts euthanised the animal.
