Two teenagers have been charged over an alleged petrol station hold-up.

A man and a woman, both 18, are expected to appear at Wick Sheriff Court on Friday over the incident in Francis Street in the Highland town last week.

About £100 in cash was allegedly taken in the robbery.

Police thanked the public for their response to witness appeals.

A force spokesman said: "An 18-year-old man and an 18 year-old woman have been reported to the procurator fiscal and are expected to appear at Wick Sheriff Court on Friday September 4 in connection with the incident.

"Police Scotland would seek this opportunity to thank those members of the public who provided invaluable information which led to the successful conclusion of this inquiry."
