Scottish Euromillions winner Gillian Bayford has told how her windfall has torn her family apart.

The 43-year-old, who scooped £148 million along with her ex-husband Adrian in 2012, claims she has not seen her parents and brother in a year because the money has left them "bitter".

Ms Bayford gave £20m to her struggling father Ian McCulloch, mother Brenda and brother Colin, but claims they have now disowned her.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: "It's upsetting and it's raw. The money was supposed to make everybody happy. But it's made my close relatives demanding and greedy.

"They've been given substantial amounts of money and houses and cars but still wanted more."

The mother-of-two claims her parents were living in a caravan and had hundreds of thousands of pounds of debt when she won and this was one of the first things she spent money on.

Both her parents and brother bought expensive homes and cars with the money she gave them, but within nine months she was told her brother was running out of money.

She claims he was given a further £800,000 before a feud erupted between the family over a newspaper article.

Ms Bayford said: "They are disgusted when I get that kind of attention. They've disowned me because I embarrass them.

"The most upsetting thing is that they won't have anything to do with their two grandchildren. They won't see them."

Mr McCulloch claims he has "no issues" with his daughter and has tried to heal their rift.

Ms Bayford and her husband split just 15 months after winning the jackpot, blaming the stress caused by their windfall.

They are both now engaged to other people.
