Man dies after van hits tree in Aberdeenshire town
A man has died after his van hit a tree in an early morning road accident in Aberdeenshire.
Police Scotland confirmed a man in his 60s died following the incident in Burghmuir Drive, Inverurie, at 5.15am.
Burghmuir Drive was closed following the incident, from the B9001 roundabout to the Blackhall Road roundabout, for several hours but it has since reopened.
Fire and ambulance crews attended the scene.
Inspector Jon Barron said: "Our thoughts are obviously with everyone affected by this tragic incident at this very sad time.
"Inquiries are at an early stage and I would urge anyone with information to contact Police Scotland."
