Police, coastguard and mountain rescue teams were called into action to help a fallen climber in the Cairngorms.

Officers in Aviemore received a call to the Coire an t-Sneachda area of the Cairngorms at around 12pm on Tuesday.

The man was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by a coastguard helicopter. He is described as having serious injuries.

Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team were also alerted and rescue teams from Glenmore Lodge, who were on the hill at the time, helped the casualty until the helicopter arrived.
