ALMOST £20,000 has been raised to help bring home the body of a Scottish boxer who died in Thailand.

Jordan Coe, from Falkirk, was wearing a heavy tracksuit when his body was discovered and it is thought he may have died from heatstroke.

It is believed the professional Muay Thai boxer was attempting to reach a certain weight for a professional fight. The 20-year-old used to train at a gym in Glasgow before he moved to Thailand to continue his career.

Last week, he took to Facebook to share how much he was enjoying his chosen career. He said:“Almost three years living in Thailand and with each year, I always learn more and more.“Thank you to my team, family, friends and fans for always helping me on my journey “I recommend anyone to go with their gut feeling and follow their dream. No matter what it may be.”

A crowdfunding page was set up to cover the costs of bringing his body home.

A message on the page reads: “Jordan was one of a kind, he was the most loveable, likeable, caring, enthusiastic young man you will have ever came across, his passion for the sport was incomparable. He lived for Muay Thai so much so he chased his dream of living and fighting in Thailand and boy did he live it.

“He loved coming home and fighting on home shows bringing some crowd with him, everywhere you went everyone loved Jordan.

“He was an inspiration to so many, a great fighter who made all his coaches extremely proud and always put on a show. The Thai community will never be the same again, he will be extremely missed but he leaves behind some legacy.”

Last night, donations on the page had reached just under £20,000.

Friends, family and Muay Thai organisations have joined together in sharing messages of condolence on social media.
