UPDATE: Missing Edinburgh man with learning difficulties found safe and well. Read more here.

Concern is growing for the welfare of a missing Edinburgh man, police have said.

Lee Gibb, 43, vanished from his home in Craigmillar, in the south east of the capital, on Friday.

He was last seen in Watson Crescent, in the Polwarth area, at around 4pm.

Police Scotland said Mr Gibb, who has learning difficulties, has previously used his bus pass to travel throughout the country.

Officers said they are keen to establish his whereabouts as soon as possible.

Anyone who thinks they have seen the missing man is being urged to contact the force.

Mr Gibb is described as being white, 6ft tall, with a slim build, short dark hair and wearing a black coat, black trousers and black boots.

Sergeant Mark Willie said: "While Lee has limited access to money, he has a bus pass, which he has previously used to travel outside of Edinburgh.

"With that in mind, we would ask members of the public throughout the country to keep a look out for Lee and contact us immediately if they see him, particularly around bus stations.

"In addition, we would ask Lee to get in touch if he sees this appeal so we can ensure he is safe."
