The Scottish Trades Union Congress claimed 20,000 people took part in its “Better Way” demonstration to demand an alternative to the £81 billion of cuts unveiled by George Osborne in the Comprehensive Spending Review last week.
Union leaders yesterday warned of a wave of strikes across the public sector as thousands of workers marched through Edinburgh in protest at the Chancellor’s spending cuts.
