Britain ‘more comfortable with diversity than it ever was before’

People from black and ethnic minorities are no longer automatically dis-advantaged in modern Britain, and tackling discrimination should focus on how social class holds people back, according to a Government minister.

Urging a rethink on the issue of race, Communities Secretary John Denham has pledged to tackle inequality in white, working-class areas as well as ethnic-minority areas.
