MSP’s £100k profit from second home

The SNP minister in charge of affordable housing and homelessness has turned a £100,000 profit by selling his taxpayer-funded second home, the Sunday Herald can reveal.

Alex Neil’s gain represents a return of more than 2,100% on a deposit of £4,720. The rest of his mortgage costs and household bills were picked up by the taxpayer.
