No criminal charge over peer’s expenses

Baroness Uddin, the Labour peer, will not face criminal charges over the expenses scandal, the Crown Prosecution Service announced yesterday, after it suggested House of Lords rules on claims were too vague.

However, the House is to

re-open its own inquiry into her expenses, which was suspended when the police investigation began last year.
