Police officer numbers rise as SNP reaches manifesto target

Police officer numbers in Scotland have increased again, according to official figures released yesterday.

There were 17,273 officers in Scotland at the end of last year – up 56 on three months before. Numbers had previously fallen by 61 between July and September last year.
