Private firm in talks to run council services

A private company is in talks with Glasgow City Council about taking over major services such as refuse collection, cleansing and the running of its civic parks, The Herald can reveal.

If the discussions come to fruition, it would be the first time frontline services in the city have been put out to the private sector, with the changes happening within three years.
