First Minister Alex Salmond has accused the BBC and ITV of having a “closed shop” deal with Labour, the Conservatives and the LibDems after talks aimed at resolving a row over General Election television debates failed.
Mr Salmond met executives from the broadcasters in Edinburgh yesterday over his exclusion from three presidential-style debates involving Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Tory leader David Cameron and LibDem leader Nick Clegg being hosted by the BBC, ITV and Sky News.
