Sports bodies call on parties to adopt school fitness manifesto

Sports bodies have entered the row over the SNP administration’s failure to meet its manifesto commitment of two hours’ physical education a week for every school pupil in Scotland, saying “children deserve better”.

The Scottish Sports Alliance, the collective voice of Scottish Sports Association, Scottish Association of Local Sports Councils and Scottish Universities Sport, called on all political parties to adopt the document as part of their own policy ahead of the next elections.
