Accident rate falls at speed camera sites

FATAL and serious road crashes have fallen by almost two-thirds in areas monitored by speed cameras.

The Key Scottish Safety Camera Programme Statistics, published yesterday, showed the average number of people killed or seriously injured at safety camera sites was 63% lower between 2008 and 2010 than it was during 1997 to 1999, when the programme was launched.
