The council’s executive committee will today vote on a proposal to award a contract to City Car Club, which runs one of the UK’s oldest car clubs in Edinburgh and aims to have more than 2000 members in Glasgow by 2013.

Car club plans to be approved by council
Glasgow is set to approve plans for the city’s first council-backed car club, with a fleet of 70 communally-used vehicles expected to be in use within three years.
