Garl’s demise good news for fast bus plan

It was always the Cinderella transport project during a decade of rapid development and unbridled, if sometimes outlandish, optimism as to what could be achieved during Glasgow’s transformation from post-industrial waste land to European destination.

Overshadowed by plans to link the rail networks on either side of the Clyde, the long-held desire for a rail link to Glasgow Airport and pipe dreams to have a Subway service in the east of the city, the Fastlink scheme is now the last one standing.
