Marine energy could create 145,000 jobs

Scotland’s seas could supply the country’s domestic electricity needs many times over and be worth £14 billion by 2050, a report has claimed.

Using just one-third of the UK’s wind, wave and tidal energy resources could unlock the electricity equivalent of one billion barrels of oil a year, matching North Sea oil and gas production. It could also create 145,000 new UK jobs.
