Rail strikes are called off after court injunction

An injunction preventing the first national rail strike in 16 years going ahead was granted by the High Court in London yesterday after evidence of widespread irregularities in a ballot of signallers.

Network Rail had accused the Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) union of failing to comply with the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act of 1992.
