Tram firm ran up £30,000 bill on rent for consultants

EDINBURGH’s tram company has been attacked for paying over £30,000 in rent for homes for consultants working on the project.

In two cases, Transport Initiatives Edinburgh (Tie) footed a rent bill worth around £1000 a month so that experts could live in and around the capital.

Critics said Tie had turned the flagship transport scheme into a “gravy train for consultants”.
