Commuters are facing rush hour misery after a line fault caused delays to train services between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Scotrail said that services between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh via Falkirk could be cancelled or delayed by up to 10 minutes due to a fault on a train between Linlithgow and Edinburgh.

The fault is also affecting services between Edinburgh and Dunblane.

Scotrail said that the disruption to services is expected to last until 9.15am.

A statement on the Scotrail website said that services between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central via Shotts and between Edinburgh and Queen Street low level via Bathgate are running normally.
