Primary six pupils from a school in Midlothian have built their own Forth Crossing.

The youngsters are taking part in a 10-day competition run by the Institution of Civil Engineers and the local council to build a model cable-bridge, similar in structure to the new crossing which is due to open over the Firth of Forth later this year.

The pupils were then given the opportunity to walk across the small-scale structure to test its strength, before it was packed away at the National Mining Museum in Midlothian.
