A dispute over lone working which threatened disruption to Eurostar services has been resolved.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union backed action in a ballot but talks have led to a deal.

RMT general secretary Mick Cash said in a message to members: "The result of our discussions is that a joint working group will be set up to discuss train managers working alone."

The first meeting will take place on April 11 and it is intended this process will conclude by the end of May.

"The objective will be to identify clear and simple protocols to be applied when an unknown event causes disruption prior to a train departing, with the overall aim of keeping train services running."
