MOTORISTS are being warned of delays on the A8 every weekend for three months as part of a £500 million upgrade.

Traffic in both directions will be affected between Baillieston and Newhouse from May 6. The A8 will be down to one lane at the Chapelhall and Shawhead junctions between 8pm on Fridays and 6am on Mondays.

Graeme Reid, project manager, said: “We are working closely with our contractor to minimise the disruption to road users as a result of this work, and these restrictions will not be in place during the May Bank Holidays.”
