A LONG-AWAITED report recommending whether to build a new runway at Heathrow or Gatwick is facing more delays after a legal challenge over air pollution.

Campaigners are applying for a Judicial Review to assess whether they had been given enough time to respond to the "highly technical 200 page report" into air quality and emissions.

Teddington Action Group, residents from a town in Heathrow's flightpath, complained they were only given three weeks to comment.

The move could stall the publication of the Airports Commission report, expected this month.

Bosses behind both the Gatwick and Heathrow expansion bids have vowed that Scottish passengers will benefit from more London-Scotland connections if they get the go-ahead for a new runway.
