First Glasgow is trialling fare cuts of up to 55% on single fares for passengers who present a Job Centre Plus Travel Discount Card.
The scheme, which launched yesterday, will see the cost of the most expensive £4.45 single ticket cut to £2.
Other discounts include reducing a £3.45 fare to £2, while single tickets costing £1.90, £1.70 and £1.20 will all be reduced to £1.
The offer will run until January 19 and can be used for any purpose, not just travelling to job interviews or Job Centre appointments.
First's Commercial Director for Scotland, Kevin Belfield said: "More people travel to work by bus than all other forms of public transport combined.
"We are pleased to be in a position to offer discounted fares for jobseekers, enabling them to better access employment opportunities and helping the local communities and economies that we serve."
Stephen McConnachie, Partnership Manager for Scotland at the Department of Work and Pensions, said: "This is a wonderful initiative and we are delighted that First Glasgow has pledged to support hundreds of job seekers in the run up to and during the festive period.
"We've worked closely with First Glasgow in putting together the trial for jobseekers."
