HUNDREDS of passengers flying into Prestwick Airport were last night diverted to Edinburgh due to torrential rain.
Four incoming flights – from Malaga, Palma, Malta and Bydgoszcz in Poland – were diverted to the capital after the Ayrshire airport's runway was closed at 4.30pm.
It was not expected to be opened again until 9am this morning.
