Motorcyclist killed, passenger badly hurt in crash with car on A9

A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a car.

The other person on the motorbike was seriously injured and has been taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment.

The collision happened on the A9 near the Catalina Junction by Alness in Easter Ross at around 8.50pm yesterday evening.

Police said that the car driver is not thought to be injured.

The road has been closed for investigations and a local diversion has been put in place via the B817.

Police Scotland appealed for anyone with information about the collision to contact them.
