Trams delay leaves £30m rail project in the sidings

PLANS for a major rail interchange on the outskirts of Edinburgh have been put on hold for up to five years amid continuing uncertainty over when trams will be reintroduced to the capital.

Work on the £30 million station at Gogar was due to commence between March and April and be completed by September, allowing rail passengers from Glasgow or Fife to transfer on to trams travelling to nearby Edinburgh Airport or east into the city centre.
