Arrest after painting defaced

LENS: France's Louvre-Lens museum closed two galleries yesterday after a woman scribbled a message using a marker pen on its most famous painting, Eugene Delacroix's Liberty Leading the People.

Police were questioning a 28-year-old woman who was arrested after allegedly writing "AE911", a 9/11 website, across the bottom of the artwork. The museum said an initial examination suggested the damage was superficial.
