The blast in Yala province followed a similar bombing in Narathiwat province on Friday that wounded six people.
The attacks come days after an agreement between the government and the Barisan Revolusi Nasional rebel group to start talks aimed at ending a conflict that has claimed more than 5000 lives since 2004.
