A 75-year-old grandmother drunk pond water to survive for two days after crashing her car into a ravine in Texas.

She was unable to walk but pulled herself through a broken windscreen and soaked her T-shirt in a nearby pond.

Wanda Mobley said from her hospital bed she could hear vehicles passing on the road above but was weak and worried she'd get lost trying to crawl up the ravine. She suffered a fractured back.

She was driving to a family reunion when she swerved to avoid something on the road.

Relatives reported her missing when she didn't show up. They located her on Sunday in an area where her mobile phone last pinged in Texas.
