China typhoon kills dozens


A mother holds her daughter as they wade across a flooded street during heavy rain in Hefei, Anhui province, yesterday. Super typhoon Rammasun has killed 62 people in China with another 21 still missing, while typhoon Matmo has claimed two lives.

Typhoon Rammasun killed at least eight people on the island of Hainan and nine in the Guangxi region. It made landfall last Friday with winds exceeding 120mph. At least 94 people were killed when Rammasun ravaged the northern Philippines last week.
