Going nuts: legal row erupts over French wonder-food used to nourish children

A French-made humanitarian wonder-food is the object of a bitter transatlantic legal dispute, after two American charities said they were being prevented from making equivalent products that might help millions more children in Africa.

Plumpynut – a peanut paste that has revolutionised treatment of severe malnutrition – is currently manufactured by its Normandy-based inventor, Nutriset, along with a dozen of the company’s affiliates in the developing world.
