A decades-old interview with Yoko Ono has surfaced in which she likens the split of the Beatles to a "divorce" but claims she had nothing to do with the break-up.

She said John Lennon was "feeling very good about" the band's split at the time, as there were already tensions between the Fab Four.

It corroborates recent comments made by Sir Paul McCartney that Ono was not responsible for the break-up of the band.

Ono gave the interview with music mogul Joe Smith in 1987, but the audio footage has only recently been recovered.
