New Kennedy in Capitol

THE latest member of the Kennedy dynasty has officially entered US politics, 48 years after his grandfather, the late Bobby Kennedy, was elected as a senator for New York.

Joseph Kennedy III, 32, bears a striking family resemblance to his grandfather, the brother of president John F Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1963.

Joseph yesterday joined the 113th Congress in the Capitol building in Washington DC, two months after he was elected for the Democratic Party to the House of Representatives.

The ambitious young lawyer and politician's father, Joseph Patrick Kennedy II, is a former Congressman from Massachusetts.

His father Bobby Kennedy served as the US Attorney General from 1961 to 1964, but was assassinated at a party rally in 1968.
