Ofgem to inject £1bn into green electricity projects

Energy regulator Ofgem yesterday proposed funding arrangements of up to £1 billion over the next two years for green electricity transmission grid projects, mostly in Scotland.

However, schemes connecting Shetland and the Western Isles to the mainland will have to wait, along with a plan to transmit between Kintyre and Hunterston.
