Police to impound Pakistani papers

AFGHANISTAN is banning the import of all newspapers from Pakistan after labelling them a "propaganda resource of the Taliban".

The interior ministry has ordered police to confiscate all copies at Torkham, a busy border crossing in eastern Afghanistan, and impound Pakistani newspapers in Nangarhar, Kunar and Nuristan provinces.

It also urged Pakistan to immediately stop shelling in Kunar.
