Quebec separatist party leads polls

A SEPARATIST party is still in the lead ahead of an election tomorrow in the Canadian province of Quebec, but many voters say they might change their minds, making the result hard to predict.

A survey for the QMI agency, released yesterday, put support for the opposition Parti Quebecois (PQ), which wants to hold a referendum on independence for the province, at 33% – unchanged from a poll released by the same firm on August 24.
