Rain swamps Greek capital

athens: A woman stuck in her car is pulled to safety after torrential rain swamped the Greek capital.

Another woman died and dozens of commuters were stuck in their vehicles after the heaviest downpour Athens has seen in decades.

Power outages darkened large parts of the city during the cloudburst, a river broke its banks and traffic jams brought much of Athens to a standstill in the morning rush hour. Main roads were overflowing with water and public transport severely disrupted.
