Rebels shoot down fighter jet

REBEL fighters trying to oust President Bashar al-Assad have reportedly shot down a fighter jet as it flew over the northern town of Atarib in Idlib province.

Rebels were attacking a military base near the town when the jet flew over and they shot it down.

Rebels have called for surface-to-air missiles so that they can take down planes and helicopters used by the Syrian military.
